The coddle-fication of american youth

So it seems the trend this year in NFL coach is the young, relatable type. The idea is, you can hire these young, dynamic personalities who can better relate the young 20 something NFL stars. The coach can be their buddy, helping them to adjust and giving them the nurturing and loving support structure that's required for all our professional athletes. Gone are the grumpy days of belicheck and parcells, and welcome the lovable scamps. This year's superbowl is gonna be the dream matchup of this kind of coach, both smith and dungey have more of a reputation as "player's coaches," they get along with the players, and get alot out of them too, but aren't known for their strategic game planning abilities.

This reminded me of an article I read awhile ago, I think it was in Time, of manager types complaining about the latest round on new hires, most notably, my generation, us. They say that we are most emotionally needy group of hires they've seen, needing constant reassuring that we're on the right track and doing a good job, and that we don't function without a great deal of guidance. Oh well, as long as pro-athletes suffer the same emotional hangup as the rest of us.

This is somewhat missing the point. The coddling of youth started back in the early 90's when all the flash card geniuses in well to do homes were graduated by their secular school psychologists to believe they would always be geniuses. You should see the mass hypnosis of the psych groups in the Calif University school system - like the ones we all witnessed on their cell phones trying to manipulate everyone.

The flash card geniuses in the work place are the ones still requiring coddling.

The NFL has only come to realize the gensesis of this little school child coddling and that they do not need to pay homage to all the BS hypnosis that the scholl psychologists were trying to pull off. They are still the scapegoat target as ar the hoolywood starlets for decency in society - but it is all arbitrary rubbish.

The NFL players and coaches are using their intelligence because the prospect of instant career ending injury for these young people is HUGE! Anyone who has stepped onto a football field and progressed to the point of not making the next grade level knows this. The NFL is a select group of athletic talent and there is no need to treat them as disposable.

The coddled professionals will need to suffer their temporary ineptness while they discover that the big bad ugly world of life cannot ever be learned by flash card nor bookwork alone. And cell phone impressions do not get any job done. Experience and understanding to do the right thing in the work place comes from - experience alone.
